The 3 B's

"You work with your husband everyday? Oh, I could never do that!" That's the response I get from most people when I tell them about our business. But it gets even better, not only have I been working with my husband for the past 8 years but also with his two sisters Britta, who joined us in 2009 and Blythe, who joined us this year. As kids they were referred to as 'The 3 B's', legend has it they've been making other siblings jealous since 1975 (that's the year my husband was born, Blythe followed shortly after).The thought of working with not only family, but one's husband and his two sisters could sound like a special kind of torture to most people, but I truly adore these three individuals and admire their talents. I know, I know, GAG!, but if you've ever seen these three in action you'd understand. They 'get' each other and are very connected, I believe this contributes to the amazing work we are able to put out at TIV.How convenient that in one family of three siblings we've got 1 very talented designer and 2 passionate marketing professionals? It only seems natural that they should own an agency don't you think? How do I fit in you ask? Well, somebody's gotta run this joint, and as I've mentioned in previous blogs I'm a creative as well. Working with 'The 3 B's' is truly a pleasure and just last night I thought I should share with them how special I think they are (prepare to gag again).- Christy Hoekenga
